Protect visibility and breathing
Follow exact machine and fluid instructions, venue rules, alarm restrictions, ventilation needs, and guest sensitivities. Never reduce stair, curb, vehicle, or exit visibility.
Check whether the machine belongs in that location
A Halloween product is not automatically outdoor-rated. For example, the cited Hurricane 700 manual specifies indoor use and gives separate ventilation and hot-nozzle clearances. Follow the current manual for your exact unit; a covered porch or an outdoor extension cord does not change the machine's rating. Keep the device, fluid and heat path clear of guests and combustible scenery as instructed.
Design one power plan
Record the exact unit's voltage, current, approved circuit and control requirements before combining effects. The Hurricane 700 example requires a grounded, protected circuit and prohibits a dimmer connection; do not assume those instructions describe another machine. Check cable and controller ratings and obtain qualified electrical help when the circuit or installation is uncertain. Plan supervised shutdown and cooling before cleanup.
Resolve the alarm plan before producing fog
The manual warns that fog can trigger smoke detectors. Obtain the venue's approval for an effects plan that preserves fire protection and clear exits; do not disable alarms to make an effect work. If the permitted layout cannot maintain visibility, ventilation and guest comfort, use lighting without fog.
